Entirely too much happened so I'm going to do my infamous bullets list to categorize the important things!
- awkward phone call with strange girl I didn't know, because Tristan didn't get to the hotel until 20 minutes after I did. Thankfully, strange girl ended up being super nice yet incredibly troubled. Seriously.
- cosplaying takes forever which makes going to panels almost impossible, thus causing you to sit around waiting for your friends to finish their cosplay.
- be a good sport about everything, otherwise you'll have a horrible time. Trust me!
- sleep is something to be cherished, so when you get it, you better take advantage of it. I took so many naps on Saturday because I thought I was going to die otherwise.
- seeing Doctors walking around with Solid Snake as well as Pokemon trainers.. there's nothing quite like it.
- didn't get to see Crispin Freeman but even if I did, I think I would be too embarassed/insecure to even ask him for an autograph, let alone stand in front of him. I would have acted like a disgusting 10 fangirl.. you know the ones I'm talking about.
- Jen from Parle Productions hugged me :D For those who don't know, that is a cosplay group in England who came to Metrocon to speak at the panels. She was really friendly, as well as the rest of the group, but this weekend made me appreciate them all the more. Their fans kept squee-ing and aw-ing during the damn panel, which was annoying, but they never seemed annoyed. They must be saints!
- being tall is not always a good thing, but when in the middle of the dance floor during a rave where a gargantuan beach ball is bouncing around, it will become your best asset.
- getting CLAWED in the face because of said beach ball? NOT SO MUCH. Asshole didn't even apologize. I should have "accidentally" punched him in the face.
- Even when my friends wore 5 inch heels, I was still taller than them, no matter how much Tristan says otherwise.
- The hotel room that we were at was haunted. Literally. For some reason, glass would appear out of nowhere in the floor and when we reported it to the hotel, they assumed we tracked the glass into the room. Yeah, because walking in a hotel that is fully carpeted all the way up to the 4th floor, all the way in the back so it's like The Shining, makes the glass fall off IN OUR ROOM rather than anywhere else.
- My new fangled GPS system is wonky when I need it the most. I drove around downtown Tampa aimlessly as she was trying to find a satellite signal. Go figure, because my dad bought it for me as an early birthday present, so I wouldn't get lost..
- I got pulled over for going 84 on 75 and I got off with a warning. LIKE A BOSS. Nothing happens to my license or my insurance either, because I turned on my charm and made that black state trooper love me and empathize with my situation. I mean, what middle aged guy would REALLY be upset at a teenage girl trying to get home to see her dad on Father's Day, when she loves Spongebob & when she's coming home early to surprise him? That's like every father's dream come true!

I shall reply to all of these things... amazingly.
ReplyDelete- Was she a friend of Tristan's?
- This is why I'd cosplay as the Doctor. The worst thing is the bowtie, and I can get a clip-on.
- ... I would have had a horrible time.
- Oh Jesus....
- I think I would have acted like a squeeing fanboy at the sight, or Mr. Cool. I wouldn't know until the moment of truth.
- Do you mean a Tenth Doctor fangirl? Because they tend to... act loudly.
- That's like Crabcat Industries! They did the amazing cosplay of Mass Effect. I'm so jealous of their skills. I'd lose my shit if Holly hugged me.
- You were in a rave?! I find this hard to believe, though I know the feeling.
- I know the feeling of that too. Nearly shoved a girl out of my way during the Matt and Kim concert.
- You're an Amazon. You're always the tallest.
- What a weird ghost to leave glass on the floor....
- Lol you know my pain.
- I AM SO JELLY. When I got my warning, the guy was so mean ;_;
- yeah, she was Tristan's friend! But she was like yelling at me on the phone, because the cell phones kept breaking up, so I thought she was made at me. I was cowering in the lobby, because she sounded SUPER angry.
ReplyDelete- I almost chased the Tennant Doctor & the Smith Doctor, but didn't want to risk getting lost from the group!
- you probably would have if you had a lack of sleep & normal food like I did, you curmudgeon.
- Trust me.. most fangirls act LOUD and annoying. Just think of shrill screaming over everything someone would say and that's the majority of girls that go to the cons.
- Mass Effect would be a bitch to cosplay as! That reminds me, there was a Chief walking around from Call of Duty - he looked pretty legit!
- why is me being in a rave so hard to believe?! Because I'm uncoordinated and tall? #glare
- yeah.. the stupid random congo lines that zigzagged through the crowd nearly trampled me too!
- AMAZONS FTW!!!!
- It was Slendy, I'm sure...
- I stopped at a green light because I didn't want to get further lost. I almost went North instead of South.. #ordeal
- I probably would have gotten a ticket had it not been Father's Day. I saw him too and was like, "SHIT" I let off the gas, and I guess he timed my speed at 84.. much better than when I was going 90, but still.
